Methods from the field of artificial intelligence, especially machine learning, are finding their way into more and more areas of our lives, whether in science, business, or our private lives. This means that a basic understanding of the underlying methods and basic skills in the use of AI and the critical evaluation of results (AI literacy) are important qualifications for university graduates in all disciplines. This applies not only to the currently much-discussed generative AI systems (e.g., ChatGPT), but also to applications that can be used in the respective fields of research (e.g., natural language processing, automatic image analysis).
